The Vancouver Sales Development Program offers a unique opportunity to accelerate your career growth. The Program involves multiple rotations over the course of 2 years which encompasses in-depth learning across the focus areas of: plant operations, rendering production, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, customer relationship development and trade and logistics coordination. Travel will be required to our other Alberta and BC locations to develop the trainee’s complete understanding of WCRL’s finished good products of protein meals and oils.
As a Trainee in the Vancouver Sales Development Program, you will become heavily immersed in the sales department and traffic logistics operations at our Vancouver Division through a combination of cross-functional work assignments, job shadowing, personal development and sales training.
At the end of the Program, you should be able to leverage your solid in-depth understanding of the our WCRL raw materials supply chain across the organization and technical knowledge of our finished good products to become our next Sales Representative.
This is a full-time, salaried position reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
West Coast Reduction Ltd.’s Vancouver Location:
Established in 1964, our plant location on the Port of Metro Vancouver provides significant rail, storage and deep water vessel capabilities. With a 83,000 metric tonne tank farm, we provide terminal service to both canola and bio-diesel industries. Primarily processing, beef, poultry, pork and fish, our Vancouver plant also operates an evaporator-type rendering system for the creation of finished protein meals. We export 65% of Canada’s canola oil to Asia Pacific markets annually and recycle about 1 billion pounds of raw material every year in Western Canada.
The Ideal Candidate:
Formal post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Agricultural Business Management or equivalent discipline preferred
Strong desire and commitment for career growth to a management level
Prior experience with brokering deals, sales contract negotiation, account management and supplier or vendor relationship development strongly preferred
Ability to travel throughout the duration of the Program
