Based in our Chilliwack location, the Production Assistant responsible for maintaining the good working conditions of equipment and ensuring quality of the finished product. Handling and receiving raw materials, controlling various plant equipment or machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner to minimize all downtime, and ensuring operations meet the company standards are important tasks of this position.
This position is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Sort raw materials and mixes in preparation for production
Safely operate process equipment through control panels and other control systems to blend, dry and grind raw materials
Monitor finished products and collect samples for testing
Assist the Production Lead in the flow of materials and products through internal processes
Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the processing area
Troubleshoot equipment issues, if applicable
Operate all equipment safety and efficiently, including newly installed equipment or processing systems
Monitor plant systems and ensure Critical Control Points (CCP) standards are met
Completion of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent level of education preferred
Knowledge of chemical or finished product mixes an asset
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how to safely operate processing equipment
Competency using technology such as smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices
Ability to learn new processes and procedures for newly installed equipment or operating systems
Forklift and Skid Steer Certifications prior to employment commencement are an asset; ability to obtain Certifications within first 3 months of employment is required
Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
