Based at our Plant on the Port of Vancouver, we are hiring for a Production Process Operator (4th Class Power Engineer). The role is responsible for operating and monitoring the production systems associated with processing raw materials (fish and poultry by-products) into oils and fats. The position ensures the finished products will meet and exceed the company's quality standards.


  • Operate the plant production systems to ensure the production of high-quality finished goods is in line with company standards

  • Control the flow of raw materials (fish and poultry by-products) through pumps, cookers, presses and other processing equipment

  • Safely manage speed, temperature, steam controls, time and temperatures of systems

  • Monitor the system to ensure Critical Control Point (CCP) standards are met

  • Collect, test and record product samples on an hourly basis

  • Work closely with other plant departments

  • Maintain daily operator log sheets, work logs and maintain a clean, orderly work area

  • Rotate between various plant systems

  • Perform shift work based on company business needs

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Possession of a valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate is required

  • Additional Steam Engineer accreditation or motivation to pursue accreditation a strong asset

  • Have prior experience in a production, manufacturing industry or similar environment preferred

  • Ability frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance

  • Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
