Based at our Plant on the Port of Vancouver, we are hiring a Laboratory Technician. As an integral part of the production process, this position is a full-time, permanent role. Shift times will be either Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday for this role.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Take samples from various raw materials, finished products and waste water systems

  • Draw and analyze various samples to ensure our product meets customer requirements and meets the company specifications

  • Work closely with the production department to perform non-routine testing as required

  • Maintain accurate record-keeping of logs and documentation

  • Perform shift work based on company needs

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Have flexible availability to work the following shifts: Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, or Chemical Sciences Technology Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution

  • Prior experience in a similar role, or equivalent co-op or practicum position for a chemical laboratory or industry field work a strong asset

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products and other technology software

  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 25 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance

  • Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, odours and animal by-products

  • Adept at taking accurate measurements, handling of analytical, sampling and measurement equipment
