Class 1 Driver (Relief Routes) - Early Morning Shifts

We have an opening for full-time Class 1 Driver in Edmonton to service multiple customer locations. As one of our relief drivers, you will be scheduled for a variety of routes. A typical work day involves several stops. Hands-on work is involved for some locations and early morning start times are an integral part of this job.

Shifts for this position typically start at 3AM and end around 1pm. A work week consists of guaranteed 40 hours.


  • Drive assigned short-haul routes based on Dispatcher or Fleet Supervisors instructions

  • Collect a variety of raw materials from customers by operating company equipment safely and responsibly

  • Empty trucks and fleet vehicles as required

  • Maintain vehicle tools and equipment

  • Conduct pre and post trip inspections

  • Represent West Coast Reduction Ltd. in a friendly and professional manner at all times with due consideration for customers and the public

  • Perform other Plant or non-driving duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possess a valid Class 1 with air brake endorsement driver's license with a clean driving record required

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional truck driving experience

  • Strong knowledge of the Edmonton neighbourhoods and surrounding areas

  • Prior vacuum truck or hydropumps experience a strong asset

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, including customers and the public

  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment such as bin, lids and containers up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance

  • Capable of performing physical-related job duties which involve daily repetitive lifting, kneeling, pulling and pushing
