Accounting & Office Assistant

West Coast Reduction Ltd. - Nanaimo is seeking an Accounting and Office Assistant.  This is a one year contract position and is ideal for an office professional who prefers a small office environment with a variety of tasks.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Answering phones and dispatching the service requests to the Trucking Fleet
  • Accounts Payable entry
  • Recording and tracking of raw materials received
  • Administrative support

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Detailed oriented with excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a prioritized manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Superior computer skills with MS Office
  • Experience with an ERP system, preferably JD Edwards
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts
