Rendering contributes to the preservation of our
environment
It begins with the collection of thousands
of tonnes of beef, pork, poultry and fish by-products,
which would otherwise end up in our landfills.
Animal by-products are prohibited in most
landfills, because they cause odours, attract
vermin, spread disease, and put ground
water quality at risk.
Through rendering, these by-products become a
valuable renewable resource for many agricultural and
manufacturing industries.
